John “Jack” Cassidy, a biblical counseling major and rising senior from Taylors, South Carolina, spent his summer interning with Christ Fellowship Cherrydale. Serving alongside Pastor Kerry McGonigal and Pastor Johnny Touchet, Jack assisted a two-month-old church plant in areas including maintenance, logistics, youth and children’s ministries, and worship ministries.
Although his degree does not require an internship, Jack eagerly accepted the opportunity when his counseling pastor invited him to serve for the summer.
“Interning with my church in its budding stages has been eye-opening to how starting and running a church from the ground up can look like.
This experience will impact my ministry for years to come.”
Through this hands-on ministry experience, Jack gained valuable insight into the challenges and joys of church planting while preparing for future ministry opportunities.
