Faith Horgen, a senior interior architecture and design major from East Earl, Pennsylvania, is completing an internship with Fowler Interiors in Greenville, South Carolina. At Fowler Interiors, Horgen assists designers with a variety of projects, including drafting layouts and elevations, ordering fabric samples, organizing the material library, and participating in site visits with clients and builders.
The Interior Architecture and Design program at BJU prepares students to combine the science of architecture with the art of interior design, equipping them to create functional, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing spaces while developing technical and creative design skills.
Reflecting on her internship experience, Horgen said, “Through my internship, I have really been able to put into practice the things I have learned in the classroom which has given me valuable exposure to the field that I’m in. These experiences have allowed me to increase my knowledge of the design process and strengthen my professional and communication skills. I am thankful for the teachers who have invested in me and prepared me for an opportunity like this!”
The internship has provided Horgen with practical experience in the design industry while allowing her to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting and further develop the skills needed for a career in interior architecture and design.
