Bob Jones University’s Classic Players will present William Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors April 23–25 in Rodeheaver Auditorium, returning the comedy to the BJU stage for the first time since 2011.

One of Shakespeare’s earliest and shortest plays, The Comedy of Errors centers on mistaken identities that lead to escalating confusion and comic disorder.

“Mistaken identities wreak havoc in this Shakespeare comedy,” said Nathan Pittack. “When a young man of means and his quirky sidekick both search for their long-lost twins, they unwittingly embark on a convoluted quest that turns the city upside down.”

The production highlights clear storytelling and physical comedy while preserving Shakespeare’s original language. The fast pace and accessible humor make The Comedy of Errors a frequent introduction to Shakespeare for new audiences and a favorite among longtime theatergoers.

Evening performances will take place April 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance April 25 at 2:00 p.m., all in Rodeheaver Auditorium.

Audience members may also attend a 30-minute pre-show talk prior to the opening-night performance. The discussion will be held Thursday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. in Stratton Hall and is free and open to the public. The session is designed to provide historical context, thematic background and insight into the production.

Tickets for The Comedy of Errors are available through Showpass.
