GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 9, 2016) – Travis Gonzales, a senior criminal justice major at Bob Jones University, serves as an intern for the Travelers Rest Police Department.

Gonzales, a resident of Taylors, South Carolina, assists with writing reports, vehicle searches, shoplifting cases, and a variety of hands-on experiences with the police department.

The Travelers Rest Police Department is a vibrant team of police officers and support staff dedicated to giving area citizens and visitors alike the highest level of service and protection.

“Being right alongside with law enforcement, I get to see a whole other side of public safety,” said Gonzales, who also works campus security for BJU. “This internship has given me the opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like to work in law enforcement. Through this experience, I have gained much more confidence in my ability to use the things I learned in the classroom.”
