BJU Announces 2024-2025 Concert, Opera & Drama Series

GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 25, 2024) – Bob Jones University announced today the schedule for the University’s 2024-2025 Concert, Opera & Drama Series. The series will once again bring world-renowned artists to Greenville.

The 2024-2025 BJU Concert, Opera & Drama Series includes:

Emerald Strings with Gregory Harrington – September 12, 2024

World-renowned Irish violinist Gregory Harrington captivates audiences with his expressive lyricism, beauty of tone, and impeccable musicianship. Come enjoy classical pieces, traditional Irish tunes, and works by 20th century composers.

The Queen’s Six – October 29, 2024

Hailing from Windsor Castle, a cappella group The Queen’s Six are resident performers at St. George’s Chapel. The group also performs for private and state occasions—​often before the Royal Family. Join us for a wonderful night of stirring choral music.

Cyrano de Bergerac – November 19-21, 2024

Edmond Rostand’s French classic is back on the BJU stage—this time with a new cutting of Brian Hooker’s translation. Don’t miss this swashbuckling tale of romance, bravery, and virtue. 

Handel’s Messiah – December 12-13, 2024

Celebrate the Christmas season as BJU’s combined choirs and orchestra present Handel’s Messiah. Hear the Old and New Testament accounts of Christ’s birth and ministry come to life through this well-known and celebrated oratorio. 

Wiesenthal – January 24-25, 2025

On the day of his retirement the famed “Nazi Hunter” Simon Wiesenthal welcomes one final group of students to his Jewish Documentation Center in Vienna, Austria. With warmth, wit and surprising humor this charming man known as “The Conscience of the Holocaust” recounts the remarkable story of how, after cheating death at the hands of Hitler’s dreaded S.S, he dedicated his life to tracking down and bringing to justice the greatest mass murderers in human history. Tom Dugan’s beautiful and heartbreaking one-man-show is sure to leave you breathless. 

The Sound of Music – March 13-15, 2025

Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, Book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, Suggested by “The Trapp Family Singers” by Maria Augusta Trapp

One of the most beloved musicals of all time! In Austria, 1938, an exuberant young governess brings music and joy back to a broken family, only to face danger and intrigue as the Nazis gain power. The Sound of Music is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization. www.concordtheatricals.com

Living Gallery: This Same Jesus – April 17-19, 2025

A boldly unique, dramatic presentation of sacred masterworks of art depicting Christ’s ministry and passion. See these great paintings come alive—re-creating scenes from our Lord’s ministry on earth. The unique Living Gallery program combines original drama, music and breathtaking live portrayals of classic works of art to celebrate the story of Jesus.

All performances are open to the public. Season tickets will be available July 29, 2024. Tickets for individual performances will be available beginning Wednesday, August 28.
