State Senator William Timmons to Speak at Bob Jones University

GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 31, 2018) – The Bob Jones University Public Policy Organization will host State Senator William Timmons on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m. in Levinson Hall. Timmons is the Republican candidate running to replace outgoing United States Representative Trey Gowdy in the November election.

Evan Newman, president of the BJU Public Policy Organization (PPO) said, “The PPO is a student run organization that seeks to expose our fellow students to lawmakers and government officials whose work affects our community. It is vitally important for young people to understand and be involved with the political process.”

A Greenville native, Timmons earned his undergraduate degree in International Affairs and Political Science from George Washington University. He simultaneously completed a MA and JD from the University of South Carolina.

Timmons worked as an attorney in the 13th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s office for four years. In addition to his legal work, he owns several businesses in the Upstate including Swamp Rabbit CrossFit, Timmons & Company, LLC, and Soul Yoga. He serves as First Lieutenant in the South Carolina Army National Guard as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) Officer.

Following his presentation, Timmons will hold a question and answer session. The forum is free and open to the public.
