GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 23, 2016) – Paige Heiple, a senior biochemistry and molecular biology major at Bob Jones University, is serving as an intern this summer with the BJU Chemistry Department in a combined effort with Cayman Chemical located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Heiple, a resident of Homer City, Pennsylvania, is working alongside another intern to target the two-step synthesis of an enzyme inhibitor. Heiple’s responsibilities include significant laboratory work as well as the review of any corresponding scientific literature. The internship will conclude with a final report and presentation of the project’s results.

“Thanks to this opportunity, I will acquire much needed laboratory experience and skills,” says Heiple. “This internship has given me the experience necessary to begin working in cancer research – a field I believe God has called me to.”
