The thoughts and prayers of the Bob Jones University family are with the families of the nine victims and the members of Emanuel AME Church during this tragic time of loss. We were deeply saddened as we heard that nine congregants, including their beloved pastor, were brutally murdered during a Bible study. It is difficult to imagine the incredible sense of loss each victim’s family is experiencing at this time. We mourn with them.
Thankfully, God never leaves us or forsakes us. He is our rock, our shelter and our fortress—and He is one who loves, comforts and guides us even in horrific tragedy.
It is especially difficult for a church to lose its pastor. The Reverend Honorable Clementa Pinckney served his congregation and the people of South Carolina—both those in his district and across the state—with honor and distinction.
We are committed to praying for the families of the victims and the members of Emanuel AME Church that each would know and feel the love of our Heavenly Father as we grieve those who passed and remember their legacies for years to come.
