GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 26, 2021) – Marcia Chilson, a senior criminal justice major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, Illinois.
A resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, Chilson rotates through the departments to observe how each area contributes to the organization as a whole. Each day, she shadows a staff member and observes them as they carry out their responsibilities and asks them questions. She is routinely asked to share a devotional and her personal testimony with the clients.
“Because I want to go into social work, this internship is valuable to me because I am seeing the mission from a different perspective than most others in that I am seeing the inner workings of each department and how they interact with others, ” said Chilson. “Interning here will give me a better understanding as to the different aspects of social work.”
