GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 1, 2019) – Kilina Klaich, a senior exercise science major at Bob Jones University, serves as an intern this semester for Cascades Verdae, a luxury retirement community, and Shepherd’s Care Assisted Living Center in Greenville.

Klaich, a resident of Homer, Alaska, assists with individual and group exercise classes at Cascades. Class offerings include mental health, walking, daily living activities, pool time, and increased strength and mobility which promote a better quality of life for seniors.

In her internship at Shepherd’s Care, she has designed classes, taught group exercise, and ran different activities for residents in conjunction with the facility activity coordinator.

“Completing these two internships has really given me a clear direction in where I want to take my career. An exercise science degree is really broad and provides many different potential directions that I could choose to focus my career into,” says Klaich. “I have developed a strong passion and love for working with the senior population, and interning at both Shepherd’s Care, as well as, Cascades Verdae has provided me with a lot of great experience, direction, and a solid foundation as I enter the workforce.”
