Julia Weigle, a senior graphic and digital design major from Clinton Township, Michigan, completed an internship with The Brand Leader in Greenville, South Carolina, where she gained hands-on experience in the creative and design field.
During her internship, Weigle worked within the design and creative department, assisting with a wide range of visual and digital projects. Her responsibilities included creating and editing graphics, supporting branding initiatives, and developing marketing materials such as social media content and advertisements. She also helped prepare files for print and web use and organized project assets to support the team’s workflow.
Weigle regularly collaborated with team members to brainstorm ideas, receive feedback, and refine designs, allowing her to strengthen both her technical abilities and her professional communication skills. Through this team-based environment, she gained a deeper understanding of how creative work functions in a real-world setting.
“This internship has helped me bridge the gap between what I have learned in the classroom and how design actually functions in the real world,” Weigle said. “It isn’t only building technical skills, but giving me confidence in the talents God has gifted me with to contribute creatively in a professional environment. It is clear that this experience has greatly shaped me for my future career.”
