Johnathan Lipski, a sophomore biblical studies major from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, spent the summer serving with New York Gospel Ministries (NYGM) in New York City, where he gained hands-on ministry experience in an urban setting.
During his internship, Lipski preached in chapel services and used artificial intelligence technology to help communicate messages in three different languages. He also assisted with food pantry operations, helped launch a young adults group, supported the pastor in a variety of ministry responsibilities and led mission teams throughout the city.
The experience provided Lipski with valuable exposure to the challenges and opportunities of ministry in Manhattan while allowing him to serve people from diverse backgrounds.
“This internship has prepared me for ministry by giving me real-world, inner-city experience in Manhattan,” said Lipski. “God has used this internship to teach me to rely on Him through all things. This experience has prepared me for ministry and for school by exposing me to opportunities I had not experienced before.”
