Janaé Banks, a sophomore film and digital storytelling major at Bob Jones University from Ellenwood, Georgia, completed an internship with Kids Video Connection in Atlanta, Georgia.
During the internship, Banks assisted with creating film-related content for the company’s social media platforms. Her responsibilities included brainstorming ideas for video posts, writing scripts, filming and editing video content, and making revisions based on team feedback before posting. Banks also collaborated with the team to develop film-related stories for the company’s monthly newsletter. She contributed by brainstorming content, writing and editing newsletter articles, and incorporating feedback prior to publication.
Banks said the internship provided valuable experience in professional communication and time management.
“This internship has taught me how to communicate better with a team, how to work with excellence for God, and how to manage my time better,” Banks said. “I learned the words of Benjamin Franklin this semester when I struggled to balance my internship and schoolwork: ‘By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.’ Though I am grateful for the challenges because they have helped me to grow stronger in my professional skills.”
Through the internship, she has gained practical experience while developing skills applicable to future professional opportunities.
