Elise Taylor, a senior public accounting major from Elverson, Pennsylvania, spent the summer interning with Arc Advisors in Greenville, South Carolina, where she gained hands-on experience in tax accounting and client services.

As a tax accountant intern, Taylor filed individual and corporate tax returns for clients with foreign interests and attended client meetings. The experience allowed her to apply classroom concepts to real-world accounting situations while learning firsthand how accounting professionals serve clients and navigate complex tax matters.

“Interning at Arc gave me the perfect opportunity to transfer what I learned in class into the real accounting world,” said Taylor. “The connections I made between school and learning in the workforce will last a lifetime.”

BJU’s public accounting program equips students with knowledge in auditing, financial and managerial accounting, taxation and general business while emphasizing real-world application, professional communication and ethical leadership. Students develop the skills needed for careers in public, corporate, government and nonprofit accounting and are prepared to pursue CPA licensure and other professional opportunities.
