Eight BJU Graphic Design Students Win AAF Awards

GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 22, 2017) — Eight Bob Jones University graphic design students were presented awards by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Greenville at the annual AAF Gala Saturday, Feb. 18.

The eight BJU students receiving AAF Awards include:

Joanna Daniels (Ninilchik, Alaska) – Gold award in Package Design, Gold award in Illustration, and Student Best in Show

Yvonne Tanbonliong (Spartanburg, South Carolina) – Gold award in Integrated Brand Identity Campaign and the AAF Greenville Rising Star award for her volunteer work this year

Sarah Cotting (Amissville, Virginia) – Gold award in Publication Design, Book Cover

Nathan Frazzetto (Greenville, South Carolina) – Silver award in Collateral Material, Campaign

Matthew Freeland (Mount Vernon, Missouri) – Silver award in Publication Design, Book Cover

Sarah Kuzmic (Greenville, South Carolina) – Silver award in Package Design

Julianne Doney (Greenville, South Carolina) – Silver award in Publication Design, Book Cover

Bethany Pritchard (Laurens, South Carolina) – Silver award in Collateral Material, Stationery Package

“Our students continue to produce at a very high level, a fact the judges recognized with these awards,” says Jay Bopp, associate professor and chair of the Division of Art and Design at BJU.

In addition, several BJU graduates won Gold and Silver awards in the professional division, many of them winning multiple awards. The prestigious AAF Silver Medal was awarded to BJU alumnus Craig O’Neal.

The American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition.
