GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 2, 2017) – The Bob Jones University Classic Players will present William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” in Rodeheaver Auditorium Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 16 – 18, at 8 each evening.

“Much Ado About Nothing” is a brilliantly constructed tale of love interwoven with a merry war of wits between one of drama’s most famous couples, Beatrice and Benedick.

“‘Much Ado About Nothing’ is my favorite Shakespearean comedy,” says director Dr. Lonnie Polson, division chair of BJU’s Division of Communication. “I love how the story explores the themes of love and authenticity in both comic and serious ways. It’s an incredibly funny play that contains significant lessons about life, love, truth and vulnerability.”

The production features scenic and costume design by Jeffrey Stegall, associate professor in BJU’s Department of Theatre Arts, and original music by Dr. Ken Renfrow, program director of BJU’s Piano Pedagogy program.

Dr. Paul Radford, department head of BJU’s Department of Communication Studies, is featured in the role of Benedick and Erin Naler, assistant professor in BJU’s Division of Theatre Arts, will play the role of Beatrice. The cast also features Jeffrey Stegall as Dogberry and students Nathan Young and Hannah Buckland as Claudio and Hero.

A SMART preview performance will be open exclusively to secondary students and their sponsors Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. Tickets are required and may be purchased through the Programs and Productions box office for $7 for students.

Performance ticket prices are $34-$43 for adults and full time student tickets are $23. Tickets are available at www.bju.edu/muchado or by calling (864) 770-1372.
