GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 25, 2016) – Bob Jones University has appointed several students to serve on the BJU delegation to the South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Students serving on this year’s delegation include senior journalism and mass communication major Margaret Stegall who serves as chair, senior business administration major Will Peek who serves as vice chair, senior health sciences major Kacey Nanney, sophomore information technology major Maggie Nanney, sophomore information technologies major Brad Shepard, junior business administration major Elliott Kelley, junior business administration major Hannah Zakaria, senior accounting major Nikki Arnold, sophomore history major Michael Pettit, senior accounting major Nate Hudson, and senior engineering major Josh Strubel.

“Student legislature affords students the opportunity to see how government works,” said Randy Page, staff advisor to the BJU delegation. “Whether through drafting their bill, steering it through the committee process or debating their bill in front of students from colleges and universities across the Palmetto State, participants are able to see the value of developing relationships with others and thinking critically about issues they may not have considered before.”

Public and private institutions of higher learning throughout the Palmetto State participate in SCSL. The fall session will be held in Columbia Oct. 26-28.
