BJU Invites Community to Christmas Celebration

GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 25, 2019) – Bob Jones University invites the Greenville community to the annual Christmas Celebration Friday, Dec. 6, from 4-8 p.m. on the BJU campus.

“BJU’s annual Christmas Celebration is one of our most beloved traditions and we hope many from the Upstate will join us here on campus as we kick off the Christmas season,” said BJU President Steve Pettit.

Greenville City Councilman-elect John DeWorken will join President Pettit at the Christmas Lighting and Carol Sing Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. in front of Rodeheaver Auditorium. President Pettit will read the Christmas story and the event will culminate with the official lighting of the over 100,000 Christmas light display. The full schedule of activities and musical events with beginning times is listed below. Most activities will be open until 8 p.m.

  • Reindeer Games: Games for children—Tent on front lawn
  • Christmas Workshop: Christmas crafts for kids—Tent on front lawn
  • Rudolph’s Face Painting—Tent on front lawn
  • Santa’s Gift Shop: Shop for your family (until 8 p.m.)—Welcome Center (2nd floor)
  • First Responder’s Tent: Hot Chocolate and doughnuts for first responders and their families (until 8 p.m.)—Front lawn between security booths
  • Yeti Battles, Teen Christmas Challenges: Christmas games and competitions for Jr. High and High School Students (until 8 p.m.)—Tent on front lawn
  • Giant Snow Globe: Photo spot (until 8:30 p.m.)—Sidewalk behind WMC
  • Sleigh: Photo Spot (until 8:30 p.m.)—Front lawn between security booths

Christmas Dinner | Dining Common

Tickets available for purchase at the dining common.

Food trucks also available until 8:30 p.m.

Holiday Bazaar | Welcome Center (2nd floor)

Christmas gifts created by local artisans will be available for purchase.

5 p.m.

Chamber Singers Christmas Concert | War Memorial Chapel

Admission is free, and tickets are not required.

5:30–6:30 p.m.

Christmas Radio Show | The Den

6:30 p.m.

Carol Sing and Lighting | Front Campus

7:30 p.m.

Wind Band Concert | Rodeheaver Auditorium

Admission is free, and tickets are not required.

 

All of the evening’s events are open to the public. Booths and activities will close during the Christmas Lighting and Carol Sing and resume at 7 p.m. Parking is available in the parking garage behind Rodeheaver Auditorium and on campus streets.
