GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 12, 2019) – Bob Jones University welcomes the Class of 2023 to campus for summer orientation weekends June 14–15 and June 21–22.

“We are excited to welcome our new students to campus and give them the chance to connect with other students and the faculty,” says Rebecca Weier, director of student engagement and success at BJU. “Summer Orientation is an opportunity to prepare personally, academically, socially and spiritually for the transition from high school to college. We believe that college is a transformative experience that has a significant relational component. Students who attend this event will have an advantage by building relationships before coming in the fall.”

This year’s Summer Orientation will feature sessions tailored to specific majors to help incoming students be more prepared academically. Incoming students and their parents have an opportunity to meet other new students and their families, as well as meet with their first-year advisor who can help them schedule their courses and connect them with the Academic Resource Center and other support services.

Students will also be able to take placement tests and audition for music lessons. With over 20 different workshops and an interactive Q&A session with parents, faculty and students, Summer Orientation will help ease the transition from high school and provide answers about student life at BJU.

The Sibling Sneak Peek, which will include an interactive session with BJU representative Ben Farrell, will provide a behind the scenes look at BJU. The session will be offered on Friday from 9:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is available to rising 7–12 grade students who are siblings of incoming students.
