Amy Kim, a senior accounting major from Greenville, South Carolina, is completing a spring internship with Mitchell & Kuharsky CPA in Greenville.
Kim is gaining hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment while working with real clients. Her responsibilities include creating client folders and beginning tax returns, verifying client information and required documentation, gathering and scanning tax documents, importing documents into tax software and printing paper returns.
Through the internship, Kim has been able to apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced, real-world setting while developing practical workplace skills.
“What I value greatly from the internship is the opportunity to work for real clients under time constraints while ensuring quality work is delivered,” Kim said. “The internship served as an excellent opportunity to experience the real work environment and strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills.”
Internships such as Kim’s provide students with valuable professional experience while preparing them for future careers in their field.
