2016 Bob Jones University Vintage Yearbook Dedicated to Dr. Robert Bell and Mrs. Corretta Grass

GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 3, 2016) – The Bob Jones University (BJU) Vintage staff announced today the 2016 yearbook has been co-dedicated to Dr. Robert D. Bell and Mrs. Corretta Johnson Grass, both of whom have served at BJU for fifty years.

Bell earned a BA in Bible in 1964, an MA in Bible in 1966 and a PhD in Old Testament interpretation in 1970, all from BJU. Bell has served for 50 years in the Seminary where he laid the foundation for the Seminary and Graduate School of Religion as we know it today. A prolific author, Bell has published dozens of theological articles, a major reference work in Old Testament studies, and is working on the completion of a theological commentary on the book of Psalms.

Grass earned a BA in interpretative speech in 1965 and an MFA in interpretative speech from BJU in 1967, with five of her graduate hours earned at the Shakespeare Institute of the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. She currently serves as an associate professor in the Theatre Arts Department in the School of Fine Arts and Communication. This year marks her fiftieth year of teaching at BJU. In addition to her teaching and coaching, Grass has taken part in Classic Players productions since 1964, acting in many major roles, including the Duchess of York in “Richard III” in 2012.
