Stegall Wins Prestigious Carlisle Award

GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 31, 2016) –  Margaret Stegall, a senior journalism and mass communication major at Bob Jones University, was awarded the prestigious Carlisle Award during the South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) fall session in Columbia, South Carolina, Oct. 26-28.

The Carlisle Award is presented to the delegate who best represents the ideals of SCSL.

Stegall, a resident of Greenville, South Carolina, serves as chairman of the BJU delegation and just completed her term as Speaker of the House at the end of the fall session.

“Margaret has been an incredible leader on the BJU delegation and SCSL’s executive committee,” said Randy Page, advisor to the BJU delegation. “It was gratifying to see her honored by her fellow delegates in winning the Carlisle Award.”

In addition to BJU, a number of public and private institutions of higher learning participate in SCSL including The Citadel, Charleston Southern University, Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, Erskine College, Francis Marion University, North Greenville University and Winthrop University.
