Mark Kiryak, a senior Business Administration major from Charlotte, North Carolina, is gaining valuable industry experience during his second internship with Risk Placement Services (RPS) in Charlotte.
RPS is a wholesale insurance brokerage firm that specializes in placing difficult-to-insure risks. As an intern, Kiryak helps build account summaries for new business submissions, communicates with insurance carriers, and assists in underwriting accounts.
Kiryak works with a team that specializes in commercial auto insurance, helping find coverage solutions for trucking fleets, including 18-wheelers that transport goods across the country for hire.
“I really enjoy working with RPS because they value the internship program very highly,” said Kiryak. “They not only want me to succeed, but also invest in my success and give me opportunities to work on certain professional and personal skills.”
The internship has provided Kiryak with hands-on experience in insurance brokerage while allowing him to apply concepts from the classroom in a professional setting.
