Meredith Fernett, a junior Strategic Communication major from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is spending her summer internship with Align Life Ministries in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, where she is gaining experience in marketing, communications, fundraising and public relations.
Align Life Ministries is a gospel-centered organization that champions life through pregnancy resource centers and strategic partnerships. As a marketing and communications intern, Fernett works closely with the organization’s supporter relations, marketing, public relations and events teams.
Throughout the internship, she has contributed to a variety of projects, including writing and recording a radio advertisement, coordinating community events, assisting with a fundraising dinner, writing donor thank-you letters and supporting a donor phone campaign.
“Every day looks different,” said Fernett. “I’m grateful for the wide range of projects I’ve worked on, but more importantly, the people I get to work alongside.”
Fernett said the internship has allowed her to apply concepts learned in the classroom while seeing the impact of strategic communication in a ministry setting.
“Interning with Align Life Ministries applies many academic concepts I learned in my sophomore classes, and every day I witness how working in the pro-life movement makes a Kingdom difference,” Fernett said. “Working at Align’s headquarters shows me how prayer, communication, creativity and organization make a vital difference so more moms and babies can access free pregnancy resources and hear the gospel.”
