BJU introduced its School for Continuing, Online and Professional Education (SCOPE) in the fall of 2018 with the goal of offering affordable, flexible online degree programs for adult learners.
BJU wanted to provide a biblically sound, quality liberal arts education for students outside the demographic common for university attendees. SCOPE wanted to make further education accessible for teachers in Christian schools, full-time pastors, high schoolers getting a jump on their college degrees, missionaries or nurses working 12-hour shifts.
SCOPE’s programs serve the part-time student who’s a full-time worker, so most of its programs are for degree completion, graduate degrees and job-specific certificates. What’s especially helpful is all of the SCOPE programs are flexible, so you can work your way through courses on your own time in your own place.
The Professional Studies, BS is a degree completion program for adult learners who have yet to earn all the credits for a college degree. With available concentrations in business, liberal arts, marketing, Biblical/Ministerial studies, social science and educational studies, the Professional Studies degree is the most customizable program SCOPE offers. It includes a near 50/50 ratio of core classes and electives, allowing students to pick whatever courses fit what they want to learn for the job they have, or hope to have.
The RN to BSN program enables registered nurses to go back to school for their bachelor’s in nursing. More and more career nurses have discovered that in order to advance in their field or for job retention, a bachelor’s degree is a necessity. SCOPE’s accredited RN to BSN program offers rigorous online instruction grounded in the biblical ethics of BJU’s residency BSN program. This streamlined program can be completed in as little as 16 months and has six start dates available every year.
