Greenville, S.C. (October 16, 2013) – Micah Gold, a freshman majoring in health, fitness and recreation at Bob Jones University, received National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-Tournament and All-Region Honors at the NCCAA South Regional Golf Tournament at Smithfield Country Club in Easley, S.C. Oct. 14-15.

Gold, a resident of Florence, finished his second round with a 69 – the lowest score of an individual golfer on the day. Combined with his score from the previous day, Gold was tied for lowest tournament score and was forced into a pairing to determine who would walk away with the lowest score. In the final pairing, Southern Wesleyan University’s Zach Moore edged out Micah Gold by one stroke to capture lowest individual score of the tournament.

This is the inaugural year for the BJU Bruins golf team. They compete in Division I of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
