Bob Jones University’s Classic Players will present William Shakespeare’s enduring tragedy Hamlet Nov. 13–19, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in Rodeheaver Auditorium. This marks the first Classic Players production of Hamlet in a decade.
David Schwingle, artistic director of fine arts, will reprise the role of Hamlet, the prince of Denmark who is haunted by betrayal and driven on a quest for truth and justice that threatens to unravel his kingdom.
“It’s a privilege to be a part of this centennial Classic Players production of Hamlet. This is my third time to play the Danish Prince, and the more I work on the part, the more I’m humbled and astonished at the complexity, genius, and beauty of the play,” says Schwingle. “It’s about family, love, lying and its consequences, and the power of trusting God to avenge and make all things new one day. Our ensemble truly hopes you enjoy the show! For ‘The Play’s the thing, wherein we’ll catch the conscience of the King.’”
Guests are also invited to attend a free 30-minute pre-show talk at 6:30 p.m. in Stratton Hall before the opening-night performance. The presentation will provide historical context, thematic background, and insights into the production.
Tickets for Hamlet are available through Showpass.
