Greenville, S.C. (April 29, 2013) – Bob Jones University today announced Abby Chetta, a junior orchestral performance major from Greenville, S.C., and Evan Brondyke, a junior Health, Fitness and Recreation major from Rocky Mount, N.C., were named to the National Christian College Athletic Association’s (NCCAA) Academic All American team.

“I’m proud of the efforts of Abby and Evan and am pleased the NCCAA honored two of our basketball players,” said Neal Ring, BJU athletic director.  “They are solid leaders – both in the classroom and on the court. I look forward to great things from both of them next season.”

Chetta and Brondyke are part of a select few student-athletes from across the country to be honored as Academic All Americans. Both are guards on their respective basketball teams.   To qualify for this award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA.

As a Division I university in the NCCAA, BJU Bruins compete in soccer and basketball. Beginning this fall, BJU will also compete in cross country.
