Greenville, S.C. (December 3, 2013) – Bob Jones University invites the Greenville community to greet the holiday season at BJU’s annual Christmas Carol Sing and Lighting Ceremony at the center of campus Fri., Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m.

“Christmas is an exciting time of the year,” said Dr. Stephen Jones, president of Bob Jones University. “We look forward to having families from all across the Upstate join us as we welcome in the Christmas season on the BJU campus.”

By the start of the Carol Sing, staff and students have hung over 100,000 Christmas lights, strung over 3,000 feet of garland, and hand tied over 400 bows.

As the crowd begins to gather for the evening, the University Singers will perform arrangements of traditional Christmas music, followed by the Carol Sing featuring well-loved carols such as “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Winter Wonderland.”  As a trio of BJU students sings “O Holy Night,” the switch will be flipped to light the campus.  The program will conclude with additional carols.

Following the Carol Sing and Lighting Ceremony, the public is also invited to the BJU Symphonic Wind Band’s Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. in Rodeheaver Auditorium.
