Gender Roles and the Fall

is male headship in marriage a result of the Fall?

Feminists in the Christian world are trying to make the argument that the role husbands are to embrace as heads over their wives did not occur until after the Fall. They say that the original state of man and wife was egalitarian (no headship of the man and submission was to be mutual). Their belief is that the Fall of man brought about male headship and wives being commanded to submit. Is that how Genesis describes the effects of the Fall?
