GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 5, 2023) – William McKee, a senior majoring in engineering at Bob Jones University, received the highest score possible on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) in June 2022. He will be attending Columbia University Law School in New York City this fall. McKee is a resident of Taylors.

The LSAT is a standardized exam broadly used in law school admissions. The grading scale ranges from 120 to 180. Approximately, 0.1% of test takers each year achieve a perfect score.

McKee estimates he studied about 40 hours before taking the exam. McKee attributes his success to the critical thinking skills he acquired in his math and engineering courses at BJU.

He applied to a number of schools and received several full-tuition scholarship offers due to his LSAT score. McKee was accepted to Columbia University School of Law, which was ranked #4 among law schools in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Post-law school, McKee plans to pursue a career in patent law.

“I am incredibly thankful for the high-quality education I received at BJU. Many of my professors not only inspired me to push my limits academically but also cared for me as an individual, said McKee. “I’m excited to see how God will use my experience at BJU in this next chapter of my life.”
