Virtual Events Keep End of the Year ‘Normal’

Not much about the end of this school year has been normal (thank you, COVID-19). Yet BJU leadership has put plans in place to make end of the year activities as normal as possible. From working on a mortarboard Snapchat filter to planning Livestream events, it’s all hands on deck to ensure the student body retains many experiences.

Cinematic Arts Senior Films Premiere — 7 p.m., Saturday, May 2

Seven cinematic arts students will premiere their senior film projects after working remotely to finish. The event will be streamed via both Facebook Live and on bju.edu/live.

Awards Program — 11 a.m., Friday, May 8

  • Society, student and staff awards will be presented via Livestream.
  • The yearbook editors will present the 2020 Vintage and reveal this year’s dedicatees.

State of the University Address — 2 p.m., Friday, May 8

  • BJU President Steve Pettit will address the current situation of the University and how the leadership is planning for the fall semester.
  • Dr. Pettit will also announce the new 2020 graduation date.
  • This Livestream event will include a sneak peek at the new School of Health Professions facility and Mack Building renovation.
  • The event will also feature a virtual choir and orchestra performance of “In Christ Alone.”
