GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 18, 2024) – Renee Celio, a senior criminal justice major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA) in San Mateo, California.
A resident of South San Francisco, California, Celio, an assistant to the volunteer manager, serves as the lead volunteer at the new opened home goods store which provides items at no charge. She also translates for Tagalog speakers.
“Interning at CORA has opened my eyes to the dire need of not just an organization, but an entire community to come together to truly help victims of intimate partner abuse,” said Celio. “The amount of courage and strength that domestic violence survivors possess has completely changed me for the better.”
