Bob Jones University junior Gavin Keller, a business administration major from Greenville, South Carolina, is gaining hands-on industry experience through an internship with Zach Sprunger State Farm in Greer, S.C.
Keller is serving in the agency’s sales department, working alongside the producer team. In the early phase of his internship, he is learning the full range of insurance policies State Farm offers and how they are tailored to meet client needs. He makes introductory calls to current customers and contacts prospective clients.
Keller chose this internship to explore whether a career in insurance and sales aligns with his long-term goals as a business administration major. “I want to see if this is the kind of work I’d enjoy doing after graduation,” he said. “Being part of this team lets me observe the strategies my agent uses to maximize sales and motivate his employees. I’m also getting a firsthand look at the lifestyle and flexibility this type of career can offer.”
Through this professional experience, Keller hopes to strengthen his communication skills, build confidence in customer interactions and gain valuable insight into potential career paths within the business and insurance fields.
