GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 22, 2024) – Flags have been lowered to half-staff in memory of Bob Jones University student José Andres López Bono.

The following message was sent to the University family today.
Dear BJU Family,
With sadness, I am making you aware that one of our students, José Andres López Bono, a freshman kinesiology major from Honduras, passed away unexpectedly late yesterday from an apparent cardiac event.
Andres was an active member of the campus community, especially the international community. He was a member of the Nu Delta Chi Vikings and well-loved by the students who knew him.
Students are welcome to stop by the CGO to pray anytime this afternoon. Counselors from the Student Care Office will also be available at the CGO.
I will share more about Andres in chapel Monday.
