GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 22, 2020) – Erin Knight, a senior health sciences major at Bob Jones University, serves as an occupational therapy intern at Duke Eye Center Vision Rehabilitation Clinic in Durham, North Carolina.
Knight, a resident of Garner, North Carolina, observes occupational therapists interact with patients. She is learning, among other valuable lessons, how a professional teaches and demonstrates various devices to low-vision patients.
“This internship is valuable because it gives me an idea of the broad scope of occupational therapy,” said Knight. “Vision rehabilitation is a specialized field. Graduate schools place a premium on prospective students having unique clinical experiences so this is definitely important for my future.”
