Bob Jones University senior Elaine White, a public accounting major from Springfield, Illinois, is gaining valuable real-world experience this semester through her internship with Cherry Bekaert in Greenville, South Carolina.

White is working in the firm’s tax department, where her primary responsibility is preparing tax returns. This hands-on role is allowing her to apply classroom knowledge to real client work while becoming familiar with the pace and expectations of a professional accounting environment.

Reflecting on the value of the experience, White said, “The internship has allowed me to get a taste of what my future career will be like. Having hands-on experience has given me the opportunity to build a foundation that I can grow off of after graduation.”

Through this internship, White is strengthening her technical skills, gaining confidence in her career path and building practical experience that will support her transition into the accounting profession.
