GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 26, 2017) – Cedric Taylor, a junior biology major, interns this summer for the Watershed Agricultural Council located in Walton, New York.

Taylor, a resident of Margaretville, New York, serves as a nutrient management soil sampler. He will be traveling around the county collecting soil samples for farmers as a means for them to get an idea of the levels of nutrients in their fields. The process involves collecting several samples on the farm, sending them to the lab, and sharing the results with the farmers, allowing them to manage their fields’ nutrient levels through crop rotation and fertilizing.

“I really appreciate this opportunity to work with the Watershed Agriculture Council as it shows me how I can use my degree in my local community,” says Taylor.
