GREENVILLE, S.C. (September 22, 2022) – Caroline Hughes joined the Bob Jones University faculty this fall as an assistant professor in the Division of Art + Design in the School of Fine Arts & Communication.

She earned a BS in apparel, textiles, and design from BJU and an MFA in fibers from The Savannah College of Art and Design.

Previously, Hughes served as adjunct faculty at BJU teaching fashion design and art courses. She has presented numerous textile demonstrations and workshops on topics such as felting, weaving, spinning, wool processing and natural dyes.

“Caroline brings extensive experience in historic textiles and fashion, along with contemporary interpretations in fiber-based art. In addition, Hughes has demonstrated competency in applying and teaching design and color theory,” said Jay Bopp, Division of Art + Design chair. “We are excited for the additional dimension that she adds to the division.”

This academic year, she is teaching the following courses: Apparel Construction, Fiber Arts, Foundations: Color Theory and Textile Sciences.
