BJU Symphony Orchestra Named as Finalist for The American Prize

GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 16, 2015) – The Bob Jones University Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Michael W. Moore, has been selected as one of eight finalists in the college/university orchestra division for the 2015 American Prize national non-profit competitions in the performing arts.

“We are honored that the American Prize organization has chosen the BJU Symphony Orchestra as a finalist in the competition, and we are proud of our student musicians,” said Dr. Darren Lawson, dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication at BJU.

Other finalists in the competition include orchestras from Utah State University, Western Michigan University, Florida State University, Baylor University, Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, Cornell University and the College of William and Mary.

The American Prize will announce winners in the division next month.
