GREENVILLE, S.C. (January 15, 2025) – Bob Jones University students, faculty and staff will participate in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Monday, Jan. 20. No classes will be held and administrative offices will be closed.
“On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the BJU community has an opportunity to honor his legacy of service by volunteering around the Upstate,” said BJU President Josh Crockett. “Each year, the BJU Center for Global Opportunities does a great job of partnering with local organizations to identify needs and special projects. We encourage our students to reach beyond themselves and make a difference in our community.”
Assisted by the CGO, student leaders from the Community Service Council help plan the outreach efforts and coordinate the day’s activities. Each year, they provide hundreds of volunteer hours to local organizations. Participants will be cleaning facilities, organizing donations, revitalizing homes, preparing and delivering meals, landscaping and painting.
Students will serve at multiple locations across Greenville County including Cultivate Sports, Home Works of America, Meals on Wheels, Miracle Hill Overcomer Center, Miracle Hill Rescue Mission, Miracle Hill Thrift Store, Palmetto Baptist Church and Upstate Circle of Friends.
