Tom Farrell receives Lifetime Achievement Award

GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 10, 2021) — On June 1, 2021, Bob Jones University President Steve Pettit presented Evangelist Tom Farrell a Lifetime Achievement Award for Evangelism from BJU Alumni Relations in a special ceremony at Calvary Baptist Church in Fruitland Park, Florida.

“For over 40 years, Tom has faithfully preached the Word of God across the U.S. and in nearly 50 other countries,” stated Pettit. “Thousands have come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and surrendered their lives to Him as a result of Tom’s ministry.”

After graduating from Bob Jones University in 1974, Farrell served on the staff of The Wilds Christian Camp and Conference Center for 17 years, 11 of which he led The Wilds Evangelistic Team. In 1990, he formed Tom Farrell Ministries, a national and international ministry of revival and evangelism through which he preaches in local churches, area-wide evangelistic campaigns, Christian colleges, camps and mission locations.

From 1995 to 2008, he served as vice president of Heart of America Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.

His book, Preaching that Pleases God: The Keys of Life-Changing Bible Exposition, in which he calls for a return to preaching that recognizes God’s authority, the pursuit of Christ, and the accurate preaching of God’s Word, was published in 2010.

A third-generation preacher, Farrell has a great affinity for pastors. He helped establish Elijah’s Harbor Retreat Center as a place where pastors and their wives can rest and enjoy a break from ministry demands. For a number of years, he co-hosted annual pastors’ conferences where pastors could fellowship and be renewed, and — to give men extra training before going into the pastorate — he founded Advanced Ministry Training which placed Christian college graduates in independent Baptist churches where they were mentored by the pastor and involved in all aspects of ministry.

At BJU, Farrell has spoken multiple times at the opening evangelistic meetings, chapel and Bible Conference and has taught School of Religion block classes and the ministry class.

Tom Farrell and his wife Regina live in Summerfield, Florida.
