Abigail Woo, a senior Kinesiology major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Elite Integrated Therapy Centers in Greer, SC.
A resident of North Augusta, SC, Woo rotates among therapists to observe a variety of treatment methods and patient interactions. In addition to observation, she supports the team by maintaining clean work areas and preparing equipment to ensure an efficient and professional clinical environment.
“My internship has allowed me to see the real-world application of information that I have learned in class,” said Woo. “It has also given me practical experience in the types of settings that I will be involved in during my future career.”
During her internship, Woo has gained valuable exposure to both the clinical and interpersonal aspects of patient care. By assisting with daily operations and observing a range of therapeutic techniques, she has developed a deeper understanding of how individualized treatment plans are created and implemented. The hands-on experience has strengthened her interest in physical therapy and provided insight into the teamwork and communication skills required in a professional healthcare setting.
The Kinesiology program at Bob Jones University equips students with a strong foundation in sports medicine, healthcare, fitness and wellness.
