What is allowed under South Carolina’s Stay at Home Order? What’s not allowed? Here’s what you need to know.

What can I still do?

  • Go to work, care for pets, or visit relatives.
  • Buy food, medicine or other household supplies.
  • Exercise or participate in outdoor recreational activity, such as fishing or hiking.
  • Seek medical help, travel to court hearings and attend religious services in houses of worship.

When does it start and how long does it last?

  • The stay at home order starts at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2020
  • It lasts during the state of emergency, which has no set end at this point

What is the penalty?

  • Classified as a misdemeanor
  • Fine: up to $100
  • Jail time: up to 30 days

Use common sense.

Keep your family and friends safe. Enjoy outdoor activities, but remember to stay at least 6 feet away from people who do not live with you.
