Additional Resources for Students

Software

Many software companies are offering free access to applications to assist students as they complete the semester. Faculty should be contacting students with information about specific class applications as details are worked out for the rest of the semester.

Windows 10 and other educational software applications are available via OnTheHub.

Adobe is making Creative Cloud available to students for free to finish the semester. Instructions on how to claim this resource are available online.

Internet Access

Charter Internet has announced that they will offer 60 days of free internet to households with K-12 and/or college students to ease the burden of learning from home. Details about Charter’s plan may be found on their website.

Other regional ISPs may also provide similar free coverage. BJU does not endorse specific providers. This is provided for informational purposes only. Students should inquire about any contract terms or cancellation fees.

  1. Many internet service providers are offering free or reduced service for students.
  2. Many internet service providers are activating free hot spots for students and others.
  3. Many cell phone companies are offering reduced cost or free data for students to set up their own mobile hotspots.
  4. Many restaurants, libraries, K-12 schools, churches and other organizations provide free Internet. Some may be willing to allow the student to park outside the building and access wireless Internet for a specified period.
  5. Students with slower internet connections are encouraged to call their service provider and ask for a faster connection.
  6. Students may be able to connect for a short time, download materials for the course, upload assignments and then disconnect.
  7. Students in the Greenville area may be able to come to BJU’s campus and access wireless at the Mack Library. Access to the building is by ID card access only.
