UPDATE: On February 25, 2014, Bob Jones University announced it has reengaged GRACE. You may access the news release here.

Greenville, S.C. (February 7, 2014) – This morning, Dr. Stephen Jones, president of Bob Jones University, gave the faculty, staff and students of BJU an update on our relationship with GRACE and what led to the termination of the contract.

Jones reiterated BJU’s intention to resolve our differences with GRACE.  However, if that is not possible, BJU is committed to moving forward – either with GRACE or another third party – to finish the project and publish a public report.

Since sending the letter to GRACE on January 27, we were involved in a number of good faith communications with GRACE and were working with them to set up a meeting in Lynchburg. We are disappointed an agreement could not be reached before GRACE went public yesterday and posted their statement on the GRACE website before sending it to the BJU executive team.
