Greenville, S.C. (November 4, 2013) –  Matt Thomas, a junior accounting major at Bob Jones University, was elected Governor during the South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) fall session in Columbia, S.C., Oct. 30 – Nov. 2.

Thomas, a resident of Greenville, S.C., will serve as Governor until next fall. He previously served as House Speaker Pro Tempore for SCSL.

“As a delegation, we were pleased to see Matt elected,” said Mrs. Linda Abrams, faculty member at BJU and advisor to the delegation. “He worked hard to secure the votes necessary and I’m confident he will do an incredible job as Governor.”

Fourteen public and private institutions of higher learning participate in SCSL.
