GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 13, 2018) – Susannah Stoever, a senior biology major at Bob Jones University, serves as an animal care intern with the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa.

Stoever, a resident of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, assists zookeepers by preparing meals for the animals, cleaning exhibits and building a new red panda exhibit.

While primarily working with the Small Mammals team under a mentor, Stoever cares for a diverse group of animals. Animals include wallabies, golden-headed tamarins, fruit bats, llamas, miniature zebu, koi fish and peacocks.

” I love my internship because not only is it helping me determine if I want to pursue a career in zoo-keeping, but I also get to share my passion for animals with like-minded people,” said Stoever. “I am learning more about how I can contribute to the conservation of all the amazing creatures God has placed under our stewardship.”
