State Representative Bakari Sellers to Speak at Bob Jones University

GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 18, 2014) – South Carolina State Representative Bakari Sellers will address the State and Local Government class at Bob Jones University on Mon., April 21 on the importance of young people getting involved and making a difference in their communities.

Sellers, a resident of Denmark, S.C., has served in the South Carolina House of Representatives since 2006. At the time of his election, he was the youngest serving member of the House. He represents House District 90 which covers parts of Bamberg, Barnwell and Colleton Counties. He is also a member of the House Judiciary Committee.

The son of civil rights leader Dr. Cleveland Sellers and Gwendolyn Sellers, Sellers learned at a young age the importance of public service.  He was Student Government Association President and a member of the Board of Trustees at Morehouse College and earned his JD from the University of South Carolina.

Sellers is currently seeking election as Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina.
