Shepard Wins Prestigious Carlisle Award

GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 2, 2018) –  Bradley Shepard, a senior business administration major at Bob Jones University, was awarded the prestigious Carlisle Award during the South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) fall session in Columbia, South Carolina, Oct. 24-26.

The Carlisle Award, named in honor of the organization’s founder Dr. Douglas Carlisle, is annually presented to the delegate who best represents the ideals of SCSL.

Shepard, a resident of East Hartford, Connecticut, serves as SCSL’s Governor until Dec. 31. He has also been named transition manager and will review SCSL’s processes, procedures and organization as they prepare to become a 501(c)3 entity.

“Bradley is an incredible leader on the BJU delegation and SCSL’s executive committee,” said Randy Page, advisor to the BJU delegation. “He has led the organization well and it was exciting to see him honored by fellow delegates by winning the Carlisle Award.”

In addition to BJU, a number of public and private institutions of higher learning participate in SCSL including The Citadel, Charleston Southern University, Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, Erskine College, Francis Marion University and the University of South Carolina.
